Wisdom Teeth Removal
Wisdom teeth are the 3rd molars to develop in each quarter of your mouth. They may erupt with little to no consequences. However, there are several issues frequently associated with wisdom teeth. These include:
Inadequate space to fully erupt
Impaction (pressing of teeth against another tooth, bone or gum)
Erupting in incorrect/improper alignment to the other teeth
Eruption pain and discomfort, headaches, jaw aches, gum aches
Dental decay of itself or adjacent teeth
Here at Livingston Dental Care, we routinely perform the removal of wisdom teeth. There are many reasons why people opt to have their wisdom teeth removed in the chair. Often, it makes better financial sense (it is usually significantly cheaper), or it is more convenient (there is greater choice of dates and times).
Some people prefer to be awake during the procedure as they prefer feeling more ‘in control’ and aware of what is happening. Of course, there are also many who prefer to have this done under i.v. (twilight) sedation. Whatever your preference is, we welcome you to come in for a consultation during which we can explain your options in more details and lead you in the best direction with a personalized care plan.
